Common Land Snails

• Garden Snail (Cornu aspersum): The most ubiquitous land snail in the UK. It features a large, rough, pale brown shell with darker mottle patterns and grows up to 4cm in diameter. [1, 2]
• Brown-lipped Snail (Cepaea nemoralis): Highly variable in colour (yellow, pink, or brown). It usually features dark spiral bands and a distinct brown rim around the shell opening. [1, 2]
• White-lipped Snail (Cepaea hortensis): Very similar to the brown-lipped variety but distinguished by a clean white rim at the shell opening. [1, 2, 3, 4]
